I’d like to start off by saying that I stumbled into the auction industry by accident and it changed my life, for the better of course. My name is David D. Dybas and while working my boring 9 to 5 job at a Central Florida retail nursery for the better part of ten years, I thought this is my life and I had better get used to it. That is until a, let’s say “lucky day” when a bunch of suits came into the store, sat us down and proceeded to inform us that the company had filed for bankruptcy, the stores would be liquidating all the assets and everyone would lose their jobs after the sale.

Recently, I had the opportunity to sit in on an NAA task force that is developing a new designation for Contract Auctioneers. This task force has opened my eyes to the auction industry in a ton of new ways.
My fellow Americans, I come to you this evening with an update and auction industry report that the auction industry is alive and well. While I may not be the smartest man in the atmosphere, I know that smarter men such as Lincoln and Roosevelt would have chosen the Auction Method of Marketing as a first choice in the deposition of their assets when needed.
